HOT BOYS! DUMB STORYLINE!3
THE ACTING IN THIS SERIES IS NOT THAT GREAT BUT THE BOYS ARE HOT AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF SEX SCENES AND FULL FRONTAL NUDITY. GOOD ENTERTAINMENT!

two ways2
There are two ways of approaching a product such as this: thinking what this basic quite good idea could have become in the hands of better creators and actors, wailing about the opportunity lost (but remakes are always a distinct possibility, let us keep that in mind) or appreciate the effort of the people involved who, at least, tried to do their best.

The main asset is -o no, not the boys- the settings: creators have chosen a beautiful location and the home shared by the characters is nice too. This allows even the mediocre director to obtain some very nice effects, a filming which is always pleasing to look at. Told like this it sounds a little offensive, well it might be meant to: with such location even I could have been able to shot something nice.

Sex is explicit but quite soft core: I found little to be excited about these pretty boys (and girls) having glossy sex in sugar-candied environments except perhaps its being explicit. This not being a porn one should not expect anything crude, of course, but more could have been done in the thrill department, hinting at hot and perhaps a little perverse action (we are talking about warlocks and witches after all, are we not?).
This not being the case, I watched this first serial -concluded by a very high cliffhanger- bemused and only a little amused by the elementary storyline and the simplistic dialogues: the main evidence of this might lie in the fact that I began watching season two several months after concluding the first, despite the presumably thrilling cliffhanger.

Acting is certainly not an asset.
Ambrosius and Grace are possibly more interesting than the rest: Tracy Scoggings seems a decent actress, even if it is difficult to tell, considering the bad lines she is given and her only problem is that, beautiful a woman as she is, she still looks older than her fictional mother.
William Gregory Lee seems a decent actor too and his rugged looks add to the charm.

The rest play chorus, even those playing Toby and Kevin. They and the others are "pretty", they say their lines and that's all. Sorry to say this about Nadine Heiman too who is a breathtaking exotic beauty but as plain acting as the rest.

Buy it if you will, but look for a bargain boxed set with the other seasons.

Truly shocking2
I think I can unequivocally say this is the worst writing on a TV show that I have ever encountered. The acting and dialogue are, as I said, truly shocking in how bad they are. The only thing that saved it from one star for me was the mildly hot sex scenes. Anyone expecting something on the level of Queer as Folk will be disappointed.
